Powered by Pitt Athletics' multimedia rights holder, JMI Sports in partnership with Entercom Radio, the Panthers Radio Network is the on-air home to Pitt men's basketball and football game broadcasts and coaches' shows. Live game broadcasts and coaches' shows for football and men’s basketball can be heard on Pitt’s flagship station, 93.7 The Fan. Game broadcasts are also available on affiliates throughout the region as well as SiriusXM.

Women's basketball game audio and the Coach Verdi Show are streamed live via the Pitt Gameday app and on PittsburghPanthers.com.

Bill Hillgrove

Bill Hillgrove is the “Voice of the Panthers.” Hillgrove’s informative and enthusiastic play-by-play descriptions have been a Panthers trademark since 1969. A 1962 graduate of Duquesne University, he has also served as play-by-play broadcaster for Pitt Football since 1974.

His longevity as a sportscaster has made him one of Pittsburgh’s most recognizable and favorite media personalities. He was named the Pittsburgh Steelers’ play-by-play announcer in 1994. Hillgrove was awarded the National Football Foundation’s 2007 Chris Schenkel Award, which honors a sports broadcaster who has enjoyed a long and distinguished career.

Curtis Aiken

Curtis Aiken joined the broadcast team as a color analyst in 2013. A four-year Pitt basketball letterwinner from 1983-87, Aiken ranks among school all-time career scoring leaders with 1,200 career points. A key recruit who helped pave the way for Pitt’s entry into the Big East, Aiken was the senior leader on Pitt’s 1987-88 co-Big East regular season champion team that finished 25-8 overall and 12-4 in league play. Aiken was honored as Pitt’s ACC Legend at the 2017 ACC Tournament and as a Pitt Athletics Awardee of Distinction in 2023.

Pitt is fortunate to have one of the most talented and respected radio broadcast teams in all of college football.

Bill Hillgrove

Known to Pitt fans nationwide as the “Voice of the Panthers,” Bill Hillgrove will handle football play-by-play duties. During an accomplished broadcasting career that spans five decades, Hillgrove has been behind the mic for some of the greatest moments in Pitt and Pittsburgh sports history.

Hillgrove was Pitt football’s color analyst from 1970-73 before taking over as play-by-play man for the 1974 season. He has called play-by-play for Pitt basketball since 1969. Hillgrove is a past recipient of the prestigious Chris Schenkel Award for excellence in college football broadcasting. In 2019, the National Sports Media Association (NSMA) honored him with the Woody Durham Voice of College Sports Award.

In addition to his Pitt duties, Hillgrove has also served as the play-by-play announcer for the Pittsburgh Steelers since 1994.Sports Broadcast Journalnamed him and Pittsburgh Penguins’ broadcaster Mike Lange to its 2018 list of Most Popular “One-Two Play-By-Play Pairs” Across American Markets.

Pat Bostick

Former Pitt quarterback Pat Bostick has been the color analyst for Pitt football radio broadcasts since 2011. A three-year football letterman (2007-08, 2010), Bostick was under center for such memorable Pitt victories as the 13-9 upset of West Virginia in 2007 and 36-33 quadruple-overtime win at Notre Dame in 2008.

Bostick makes a tremendous impression on listeners with his keen insight and analysis. In addition to Pitt game days, he will continue to be a frequently heard voice talking college football on 93.7 The Fan’s various shows.

A 2010 honors graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Bostick earned his bachelor’s degree in just three years before completing a second degree in 2011. In addition to his broadcasting work, Bostick serves as associate athletic director for major gifts at Pitt.

Larry Richert

Larry Richert has provided Pitt pregame coverage and in-game sideline reports since the 2013 season. One of Pittsburgh’s most recognized voices and faces, Richert has hosted the venerableKDKA Morning News Show(1020 AM) since 2001. His broadcasting career spans nearly four decades in both radio and television.

Richert is the Acrisure Stadium public address announcer for Pittsburgh Steelers home games and narrates the Steelers’ annual highlight films. The 2013 season marked Richert’s return to college football. During the latter 1980s, he produced Pitt football radio broadcasts for four seasons.

Richert is a tremendous ambassador for all things Pittsburgh, emceeing more than 100 benefits annually throughout the region. He is a past recipient of the Richard S. Caliguiri Award for exemplary community service.

Josh Rowntree

Josh Rowntree is a multi-award-winning journalist, play-by-play broadcaster, reporter and radio show host with over 15 years of experience in the media industry.

Josh currently serves as the play-by-play radio voice for Pitt Women's Basketball on the Pitt Panthers Radio Network, a role he has occupied since 2018. Josh additionally serves as a play-by-play broadcaster on ACC Network, having covered ACC baseball, soccer, softball, volleyball, lacrosse and gymnastics.

A familiar voice in the Pittsburgh sports media scene, Josh joined Audacy Pittsburgh in 2016 and has worked as radio show host, reporter, update anchor and play-by-play broadcaster for 93.7 The Fan and KDKA Radio.

For 93.7 The Fan, Josh has actively covered the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, and Pitt, as well as other local college teams and sporting events locally and nationally. For his coverage of Ben Roethlisberger’s final game at Heinz Field and his work on KDKA Radio’s Weekly ‘This Hits Different’ segment, Josh received Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Excellence in Broadcasting Awards in 2022 and 2023.

With KDKA Radio, Josh anchored coverage of a news event that garnered another PAB Excellence Award, and was part of the staff during a year in which KDKA Radio received a Marconi Award, given to the top news/talk radio station in America.

Since 2018, Josh has worked with the Associated Press' radio division and was named the AP Radio Sports Contributor of the Year in 2020, an award given to the top sports radio contributor in the country.
