Griselda filming locations
While the show is set in Miami of the ’70s and ’80s, none of the sequences were actually shot there. The show makers realised that present-day Miami was a far cry from the pre-cocaine explosion Miami. It was then decided to recreate the sets and old-world Miami in California, USA.
Los Angeles, California, USA
A wide range of scenes in Griselda were shot in Los Angeles, the entertainment capital of the world. The city’s preserved landscape was further moulded by the producers to recreate Miami of the 1980s. In particular, the Dorothy Chandler penthouse at the Los Angeles Times Building features as Miami kingpin Amilcar’s (played by José Zúñiga) apartment in the show. Additionally, the eatery in the pilot episode where Griselda meets fellow Columbian Chucho was shot at the Astro Family Restaurant in Silver Lake, Los Angeles.
