While the show is set in Miami of the ’70s and ’80s, none of the sequences were actually shot there. The show makers realised that present-day Miami was a far cry from the pre-cocaine explosion Miami. It was then decided to recreate the sets and old-world Miami in California, USA.

A wide range of scenes in Griselda were shot in Los Angeles, the entertainment capital of the world. The city’s preserved landscape was further moulded by the producers to recreate Miami of the 1980s. The lavish party hosted by Griselda was shot at Casa Oceana in Long Beach, while the now-closed beach club Casa Ripples also featured as a backdrop for some scenes.
